Rollomatic Inc. ShapeSmart NP3

The ShapeSmart®NP3 is a precision cylindrical grinding machine with 3 CNC axes and a remote Fanuc CNC Control type iPendant™. With a grinding capacity of diameter ranging between 0.5 mm to 20.0 mm, the ShapeSmart®NP3 is ideal for the economic cutting tool blanks preparation for milling and other stepped tools. The peeling grinding method well proven on other type of the ShapeSmart® series provides the ability to grind tools with extreme length / diameter ratio as well as complex profiles. The rigid design of this machine mounted with a powerful 8.5 kW spindle motor and a wheel diameter of 250 mm allows grinding parts requiring high material removal. Delivered with a shank guide system quick and easy to adjust, this feature allows the preparation of high quality blanks in concentricity tolerances below 0.002 mm. For the production, the ShapeSmart®NP3 comes standard with a fast and reliable integrated 3 axis tool loader with a capacity of 1000 pieces. The ShapeSmart®NP3 can also be f itted with a Renishaw probe for measuring the length referencing of the tool before grinding. This option is particularly suited to grind the neck and taper on milling tools and form cutters that have already been flute ground. For super finish operations, an additional CNC slide to fit a finishing wheel is also available as an option.
