Giddings & Lewis Horizontal Boring Mill Model FT3500 FT 3500 Spindle or Ram Headstock Two versions of floor-type boring mills are available, the FT and FTR Series. The FT is equipped with a standard boring mill live spindle. The FTR has a ram headstock with a live spindle. Fit the Machine to the Application The choices do not end at the headstock. The modular design of Giddings & Lewis boring mills offers plenty of selections, allowing manufacturers to fit the machine to the job. Choose from various tables or floor plates, X and Y axis travels, coolant systems and attachments. Large Capacity HBM Designed for Productivity With 4 to 12 meters (13 to 40 feet) of X-axis travel and 2 to 3.5 (6.5 to 11.5 feet) of Y-axis travel, the FT and FTR Series have ample capacity for the largest of parts. X-braced cast iron construction, wide way spreads, large preloaded ballscrews and exclusive thermal compensation software are just a few of the features that highlight the rigidity and accuracy of G&L boring mills. Built-in Convenience The operator platform that travels with the column allows optimal viewing of and access to the machining operations.
