Every station may be equipped with turning, drilling, milling, tools. the heavy duty 7.4 HP drive motor for each milling station enables considerable metal removal. The Y-Axis expands the number of applications and types of machining that can be accomplished in one handling on this multi-function turning and milling center. Milling and Drilling up to 2 inches above and 2 inches below the centerline of the part are common operations on the SY series Puma. The heavily ribbed torque tube design prevents twisting and deformation. Fine g rain Meehanite processed cast iron is used for its excellent damping characteristics. All guideways are wide, wrap-around rectangular type for long-term rigidity and accuracy.
