Makino T1
The Makino T1 is the latest design in the 5-Axis T Series. Makino recommends this model for a wide range of large part applications. Due to the large envelope and high rigid construction, the model is suitable for industrial component machining, as well as aerospace and hard metal machining.Thick Z-Axis bed castings and wide slideway surfaces, along with a "deep chest" and monolithic column design supporting the X- and Y- axes insure that optimal rigidity is maintained under the most challenging cuts. Add to these features, Makino's "Active Damping" technology which removes cutting vibrations from all axes and the machine is able to deliver cutting stability and higher productivity while extending tool life. Unlike trunnion style 5-axis machines, the T1 features an A axis on the spindle and B axis rotary table. The swivel motion of the HSK-A100 spindle with 12,000 RPM is programmable infinitely from 0 to 155 degrees (plus 45 degrees and minus 110 degrees). This de sign results in the machines ability to accomodate very large parts that trunnion sytle models could not handle. Parts from 1 meter square by 500 to 800 mm high can be machined in a single five-sided machining process.
