The a120nx continues Makino’s long-standing tradition of bringing high efficiency, high accuracy, and industry leading reliability to large parts production. The a120nx provides an expansive workzone that accommodates workpieces up to Ø82.7” (2,100mm) x 70.9” (1,800mm) tall, and weighing up to 11,000 pounds (optional specification). A full contour machining capable NC rotary table type B-axis is standard, with a high force pallet clamping system delivering over 46,500 lbs. of hold on the fixtured workpiece to allow for aggressive metal removal. The standard tool magazine on the a120nx accommodates 204 tools with a length capacity up to 35.4 inches, a diameter capacity up to 14.0 inches, and a maximum weight of 77 lbs. An ergonomically designed tool loading station is standard with this magazine, allowing ease of operator maintenance of the large cutting tools that are capable of being used in the a120nx. hes per minute (54 meters per minute), allowing for highly efficient machining with the a120nx’s standard 8,000 RPM High-Torque spindle. This standard spindle has a peak power output of 74 HP, or 50 HP continuous. That power level is coupled with a standard torque output of 886 ft-lbs peak, 408 ft-lbs continuous. For customers machining large billet aluminum hog-out type parts, the a120nx has an optional 20,000 RPM High-Speed / High-Power spindle that is especially suited for demanding aerospace and semi-conductor chamber machining applications. This spindle offering features an output capability of 94 peak HP, 74 HP continuous, coupled with 0 - 20,000 RPM acceleration capability of only 7.4 seconds. This agile heavyweight comes standard with Makino’s Fanuc based Professional-6 CNC control, featuring standard features such as a user-friendly touch screen interface, advanced tool data management, and our patented Makino Geometric Intelligence high speed machining control system.
